"We hired Cromer for a long weekend away in the Brecon Beacons to meet our friends who have VW camper vans themselves although it was our first experience of camper vans it was certainly one to remember the location and company were great and the camper van was faultless, very well equipped with everything we needed and drove great.

Mark you were a pleasure to deal with and have asked my friends if they need any further conversion work or additions to contact you. Thank you"

The Pieri's Family Camper

Can't say enough how pleased we are with the conversion Mark did for our T5.

Superb workmanship and outstanding service, before, during, and after the work was complete.

Our first meeting was friendly and informative. Mark's knowledge and experience gave us every confidence that OXcampers would be the right choice. Plenty of time was given going through the various options, but as others have said, no hard sell, just honest straight forward advice. It was clear from the outset that we were talking to somebody that was not only competent and experienced, but was also passionate and experienced about camper vans and an outdoor lifestyle.

During the conversion process we were kept up to date throughout. Our van had previously had work done by other companies that presented a couple of challenges and mid conversion decisions were needed. In every instance Mark was on the phone straight away to discuss the options available to us so as to avoid unnecessary delays.

The end result is superb. We were given a thorough explanation and advice on how everything worked and made sure that we were entirely happy before we went on our way.

The quality of the furniture and the workmanship is outstanding, can't fault it one bit.

After sales service is second to none, we had a couple of minor issues, nothing that spoilt our enjoyment or use of the van, but Mark was on it without delay or hesitation putting them right immediately.

We've now had the van a few months and absolutely love it. It has exceeded our expectations and having had some use already the excellent quality of the work and materials used is evident.

If you are thinking of getting a conversion or having work done on your van, I can't recommend OXcampers highly enough. You won't be disappointed!

The Ritson's Family Camper

We would like to say what a fantastic service we received from Mark at Oxcampers. Right from the initial visit we were treated to Marks extensive knowledge on campers and conversions.

We decided to go with Mark for our conversion because he didn't give us the hard sell and was very competitive on price. It is obvious to us that he has a real passion for his work and his attention to detail is second to none.

We are delighted with our completed VW T6 camper and have been away in it on many occasions since then. So many people have commented what a fantastic conversion it is and this is due to Marks excellent workmanship.

We would happily recommend Oxcampers to anyone thinking of converting a van to a camper.

Thank you

Gavin & Jo Take The Plunge & Get Their Own Camper

Back in October 2013 we hired Fistral for 5 nights over a long weekend and headed off to Wales for an Autumn road trip. We had a great time, renting the van from Mark was easy and he was really helpful and friendly.

In May 2015 we were back, a long held plan to tour Scotland worked out and we booked Croyde for the trip. Again it was really easy and Mark had done extra work on the van because he knew we were away for a while. It is so much better to deal with someone who knows all about the vans, he built them; than a big company - it is much more personal.

So by now we were hooked, when I spoke to people with camper vans they all said they didn't regret having one. I pestered Mark for advice before hand, discussed the options, got an idea of what it would cost to get it done. Armed with this I knew what the whole thing (van and conversion) would cost and in June we bought a Van and once all the choices over finishes and colours were sorted he just got on and did it.

The result is brilliant, we knew what to expect having rented from Oxcampers, but the end result is great.

If you want to rent a van, have some work done on a van or have one converted I would happily recommend Mark to do it.

Thank you

Lisa & Jason's New T6 Conversion

Mark,

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for turning our van into the amazing camper it now is. We absolutely love it and can't thank you enough for your advice and help to make it perfect.

I'm sure we'll be back for little upgrades in the future too.

All the best with your business, which certainly seems to be building quickly, well done!

Sophie & Paul's T5 conversion

I approached Oxcampers for some guidance on how best the convert my VW T5 panel van, the reason we chose them was due to the very open approach via their Facebook page photographing each and every stage of the conversion process on multiple customers vehicles and there were lots to look at for ideas.

We visited Mark to see the set up of his operation and were extremely impressed with his workshop and he showed us around some of his hire vans and some current projects to demonstrate the quality of his work.

He walked us through each and every option we had and was very honest and helpful at every stage.

We finally booked in the van with a mammoth list of tasks for Mark to complete and made the decision to follow the stages of our progressing project via the Facebook page.

Finally the day came for us to collect the Camper and he had done an excellent job, before we left he walked us through the stages of setting up the camper and using each element.

All in all a fantastic service highly recommended professional company who I would/will use time and time again.

Thank you Oxcampers.

Emily & Rebecca's trip in Cromer

We had a brilliant time in Cromer. The van had everything we needed and kept us warm and cosy in the wild weather, whilst also giving us a great base when the sun shone! Just loved the spontaneity of being able to shut the door and drive off to a new place when we fancied it. Mark was great through the booking, handover and return explaining everything we needed and being on hand for any questions. Cannot wait to line up a van for Mark to convert in to our very own version of Cromer. Our heart definitely lies in a VW camper van!

Daren & Tracy's Hyundai iLoad

Picked up our Hyundai iload last weekend and have spent the week driving it out and about visiting family and friends. Not only are we REALLY pleased with the work Mark has done in transforming a "builders" van into a day van but the overall opinion of everyone who has seen it is "Wow, what a really professional job."

We know the van isn't Mark's usual choice of subject to work with but having driven the van over and discussed our requirements with him he seemed happy to carry out the work. Now we've got it back we couldn't be happier.

Well done and many thanks Mark on a brilliant job!!

We, Andrew, I and our dog Murphy, have just got back from an amazing five days away in and around Snowdonia in the T5 Cromer - We had such an amazing time (Freakin Awesome), we can't thank you enough. It is truly the best way to see the UK; no messing around spending hours trying to put up the tent when you get to where you want to be - just plug in the electric's, open the wine and relax. We even took our wee coffee machine so we could have fresh coffee every morning. Frankly with Ox Campers it couldn't be easier - they provide everything you need, just pack your tooth brush, change of pants, a few bits of what you fancy food-wise and you are away. You can stop for lunch anywhere; we spent a memorable day on Black Rock Sands at Portmadog where you can drive onto the beach (photo attached) - after a breathtaking walk along miles of beach we were back in the T5 for hot soup, local bread and a fresh cup of tea (heaven). The T5 was apparently brilliant to drive - although I didn't get a look in as Andrew enjoyed driving it so much I was left to navigate.

Thank you again, we have already recommended OxCampers to anyone who asks us if we have had a good holiday.

The problem is now that we want our own :-)

All the best

Fiona, Andrew and Murphy

Touring around in our old T2, we'd seen a few conversions but looking at his hire vehicles convinced us to hand our shiny new T5 panel van to Mark at Oxcampers. We talked through with Mark what we wanted and got good, clear advice.

Having collected the finished opus, we're very pleased. The quality of the work, the attention to detail and the finishing touches all add to the overall impressive result. Just what we asked for.

We've been driving the van for a couple of weeks now, it always brings a smile to our faces. We have no doubt that this will continue for years to come.

Once we've got a few more nights away under our belts, we'll return to have some bells and whistles added.

Rich & Ju's old work van gets a new lease of life

What can we say? We Love it!

You've taken our old builders van and turned it into a lush camper! It's absolutely amazing what you've managed to achieve. Still struggling to believe it's ours!!!

All in all, we couldn't be happier and would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone.

Many thanks.

When we decided to spend a month in a camper van driving round the Scottish highlands and islands, Oxcampers was the first place to go after an earlier long weekend in Fistral went well and was a good dry run.

We chatted to Mark about dates and secured Croyde for the trip, it came with all that we needed - no need to go out and buy camping chairs. Pick up from the workshop was straightforward, Mark talked me through everything on the van, how it all works and when I inevitably forgot what he said this was backed up with the handbook in the van and Mark's mobile number for emergencies.

The van was so easy to drive and covered more than 2,000 miles without a hitch, never struggling and easily coping with Scotland's hills and narrow roads the most challenging being the Bealach na Ba which leads to the Applecross peninsula in Wester Ross and rises to over 2,000 feet from sea level.

Bealach na Ba

Sadly we had to give it back at the end of the trip but I'd recommend the trip, Mark and Oxcampers to anyone.

Thanks Gav

The Smiths family Camper

Waiting at Main Street, Grove traffic lights along side a red VW camper I read "Hire me at www.oxcampers.co.uk" and following two long weekend hires of Croyde and Bondi we were sure of what we needed in our own van which has since become an important part of our leisure time.

OXCampers turned our newly acquired T5 panel van into a real camper of the highest quality which is admired everywhere we go. The only word that I know to adequately describe our van is - awesome.

Thank you OX Campers

Alison & Steve's Green Goddess

We're really pleased with the van thank you. When we got back on Sunday we sat in it and had our first cup of tea and tried out all the switches and things. We have to confess to being a bit anxious about letting the green goddess out of our sight, but Su's (Alison's colleague) recommendation put our minds at rest and the fact that you are reasonably local was good and were able to visit at crucial points in the build. Thanks for being so flexible and diplomatic (!) when we suggested something which was obviously a bit mad. Having spent 2 weeks in the van on a "pumpy-up" bed in France last summer, we are really looking forward to a comfy bed and we can't wait for our first trip away, we have the whole of 2015 ahead of us and are looking forward to buying you (and your long-suffering wife!) a beer and meeting the rest of your family at some VW Fest somewhere very soon!

We truly have no hesitation in recommending Oxcampers.

Best wishes

We first approached Mark at Oxcampers and firstly hired Croyde for a week in Cornwall. An excellent van, so good in fact we decided we needed our own! Myself and my wife (Lesley) are both active scuba divers and we needed the van to carry our dive kit and give us a base to stay in for our frequent weekends away. We sat down with Mark and agreed our design and specification. Mark supplied detail costings and was a great font of knowledge of all things campers. Our extensive wish list became reality and construction was started. Mark kept us informed throughout the build via Facebook and email. We took delivery and it matched all our expectations and exceeded in many. The van is an absolute joy and I must say the bed is a design based in heaven with comfort to match. The rear storage space is millimetre perfect for our dive equipment and the extra shelves are perfect for our bits and bobs of which we have loads. Marks quality of work and attention to detail is second to none and ensures you are not disappointed.

As you can tell we are bowled over by Marks work and I cannot thank him enough. If you are wanting a van converted then you should look no further than Oxcampers.

We collected Croyde from Mark on Wednesday afternoon (the introduction to the van told us all we needed to know). We drove to a site in near Ilfracombe, and parked up for a few days. It was great fun in the van, we all slept well (including banksy - a border terrier). Driving around was easy, packing the van for travel was really simple. We had a great time, but used our Uno cards, rather than the playing cards supplied with the van at night! Mark's communication before and after the rental made the whole process a relaxed affair. We'll hire again, it was so much fun .. discovered the "campervan" community but the difficult questions now start - T4 or T5, SWB/LWB, pre-converted or "do it yourself"

Looking forward to out next hire, and making longer term plans.

Regards

Pete

We had a great weekend! The van was so well equipped we hardly needed to pack anything and the extra space in the huge free standing awning meant that we had loads of space for bikes/BBQ etc. (and bike rack and awning were really reasonably priced!! unlike some van hire companies!!) I was particularly impressed with the communication before hire, all questions answered quickly and efficiently without making me feel stupid! We'll definitely be hiring again sometime, in fact we loved it so much (and talked about it so much when we got back) that our neighbour immediately booked Bondi for a short break too!

Thanks Again

Jo

Julie & Colin's T4 refit

We originally went to see Mark with the intention of just getting a fridge and a hob installed into the existing units in our T4. Our van was very basic with cupboards and a bed only. After meeting Mark and seeing his vans, we decided to strip our van out have a complete refit. Mark answered all of our questions and gave us lots of good advice. He kept us informed every step of the way while the van was being worked on. He even posted pictures on face book so that we could see the progress. The van was ready to collect exactly when it was promised. The quality of work was second to none. Everything was finished perfectly. The unit colour was exactly what we wanted thanks to Mark's advice. We could not be happier. We love our new van and we are sure we are going to have years of fun in it. Mark has a wealth of knowledge and is a genuine trustworthy guy. We will go back to Mark for any future work without any hesitation.

If you are thinking of having a conversion, we would definitely recommend Oxcampers. You won't be disappointed.

We hired Croyde for a family holiday with our 18 month old and Ruby the Rottie. What a great decision - by then end of day one Croyde was like an extra family member!!! Excellently well appointed, great to drive and plenty of room inside. The fit out is really well thought out with lights just about everywhere conceivable, no need to fumble around in the dark or bother with annoying head torches!!For anyone who has never camped before, with Croyde you get everything you need. We had a great time and now really want to get a van of our own so Mark can work some more of his magic for us.

Adrian

Just a big THANK-YOU to Mark and Kyja for all there help to make our weekend in Croyde so enjoyable. We did not think that we could enjoy our 2nd trip more than our 1st but we did. The excellent alterations that Mark has made to the van make such a big difference. The pop top gave the van so much more room. We also decided to hire the awning (which was a godsend when we had a couple of downpours) and that gave us even more space. All in all a great experience again so much so that we are already planning next years adventure!!!

Thanks again, Mandy & Vince

Glastonbury 2014

Although we are seasoned Glastonbury-goers we were excited but nervous about our first trip there with our 1 year old son. Renting a camper from OXCampers made all the difference to us. We had a fantastic week staying on the festival site, the van had everything we needed; plenty of storage space for all the clobber a 1 year old needs to face all weather conditions, a comfy and secure bed, good cooking and fridge facilities. We have never had so much good sleep at a festival and made our fellow campers very jealous with our freshly cooked breakfast baps each morning! Mark provided excellent customer service to us, went out of his way to make our trip run as smoothly as possible and all this at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be in touch about booking again if we manage to get tickets to next years festival! Thank you OxCampers!

Thanks again Mark for helping to make our festival experience so enjoyable!

The old company work vehicle becomes the family camper

We have just had our old Electrician's work van, a VW T4, converted to a campervan by Mark at Oxcampers and we couldn't be more satisfied and happy with the result.

Mark was a great help from the start, he had a good knowledge of what needed to be done and how to achieve the finish we wanted. He was able to show us his vans which he had converted for examples and he was able to advise us on the different options available for us. He had a good selection of different samples to choose from to get the style and colour we wanted.

After dropping off the old van for conversion Mark kept us up to date with regular progress photos and emails. When we picked up the van we were very impressed with the finish and his attention to detail.

You can see from the conversion that Mark has a great passion for what he does and this is also clear in the quality of the finished product. We can honestly say that we would not hesitate to recommend Oxcampers and Mark to anyone looking for a conversion.

Since having the van converted we have been on 3 very successful trips and the van has work well on all of them, even surviving wet and windy weather.

Thank you Mark

Le Mans with Croyde

Although we are seasoned campers, we hadn't stayed in a campervan before. We are keen to convert our own, so decided we would try it out before hand and scoured the internet for one to hire to drive down to Le Mans in France for a long weekend of racing excitement. From start to finish, our experience with Mark at Oxcampers has been exemplary. The booking process was nice and easy and any questions we did have, were answered by email swiftly. Excellent value for money, Croyde provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable and reliable set of wheels to stay in for the weekend. Fully equipped with all your camping essentials, Oxcampers even provided the bedding for us. After a long 24 hours at the circuit, we were grateful to have somewhere safe and cosy to return to. We couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thank you for your help and thank you Croyde for looking after us so well! We'll be in touch with some conversion questions!

Thoroughly recommend the hire of Bondi and using Ox Campers. Bondi is well appointed and the owner Mark has really thought of everything needed from cleaning products to playing cards - even came with collapsible shopping basket! Paperwork was a breeze and we were given a demo on how to use everything which ensured we got the most out of the camper. We stayed at the caravan club site at Longleat, the site facilities were brilliant and everyone bar the jobs worth receptionist were very friendly!

We had a wonderful weekend. Thank you.

Jon & Family, Try Before You Buy

Our experience renting with Mark & OxCampers was excellent from start to finish. Responsive to enquiry, competitive price, flexible on pick up arrangements.

We used it as a try before we buy, for a family of 4, on the long weekend and it was a great experience we'd recommend to others, and would recommend using OxCampers.

Our 1st Sprinter Conversion

I contacted Mark with this idea of converting our Sprinter into a Camper Van for my family, admittedly Mark told me he had never done one but would love to take on the works.

He helped out with the internal layout/design from the off, took on board our requirements as a family and made a few fantastic suggestions, once the quote was received and pricing agreed we dropped the van off for Mark to crack on with.

He updated us throughout the project with photos on Facebook, messages and let us drop in whenever we were passing.

The works were carried out to the highest standards, the craftsmanship was amazing, the original idea was for me to have a crack at it myself but the difference between what I could do and what Mark has achieved is poles apart. Our children were so excited during the project, seeing the van change daily.

After receiving the call from Mark telling me the Van was ready I was like a kid in a sweet shop, I drove my wife and children over to Mark telling them we needed to see him about a few bits and the van wouldnt be ready for a few weeks, when we got there and they could see it was completed they were all over the moon, weve just had our first weekend away as a family and Ive got to say this will be the start of many a night/weekend breaks for us, we have everything we need, the van sleeps 5 of us (plus a puppy, thanks to Marks cute dog) and cant wait for the sun to shine and start to many many weekends away.

A massive thank you again to Mark and Ox Campers for all their hard work, dedication and professionalism.

Many thanks again

Rusty & Becky's T5 Kombi Van Conversion

We were looking at converting a T5.1 panel van into a window/kombi van. Mark sat down with us and went through all the different options available. His knowledge and experience with the vans made this a very easy process and after a cup of tea we had agreed the works to be carried out.

Less than 2 weeks later, what was our standard white panel van now looks amazing. Mark is a complete perfectionist and the level of craftsmanship in the van speaks for itself. He kept us informed on the progress of the van and the photos he had posted just built our excitement to see the van complete. We were not disappointed. We were speechless!

Mark's professionalism and Volkswagen background is second to none and with his passion for Oxcampers there isnt one thing he doesnt know about the vans and their potential.

I would not hesitate in recommending Oxcampers to anyone looking at having any type of conversion work carried out.

Professional, trustworthy and reliable

Thanks OXCampers

Harry's T5

I found Oxcampers, Mark, to be the closest T5 conversion company near to me. My wife and I visited him over 1 year ago, to look at his campers and get some ideas. The dilemma was whether to buy a camper already fitted or to get a van an have a conversion.

Mark was great with his advice and solved the dilemma in a simple sentence, Most people want a camper to be their own and have the interior as they would like.

So the job was on, find a van and get an interior to our liking. We followed his advice looking at magazines etc. 1 year later and we had a T5, and as soon as I had the van, partially done, I called Mark to see if he would complete the conversion.

Meanwhile we had trawled the internet of all the usual conversion specialists and Marks advice firmly a foundation when we scoured the various designs. We found the design and style we liked. Cambee campers retro.

Mark did the rest he ordered the kit, ensured the smooth running of the project from beginning to completion. Keeping us informed along the way. A professional and courteous service for a small family firm.

I believe he has posted pictures of .Harrys T5' on his Facebook page, please take a look and see the quality of the work Mark produces.

A big thanks to Mark and feel free to take this as a recommendation of Oxcampers work and service.

19th - 22nd October

We rented Croyde for a long weekend at the beach. It rained all weekend almost, and was very very windy, but we were very comfortable and cosy inside Croyde. Everything inside the van was in good working order, clean and well maintained. Having the DVD player was a real bonus due to the weather! Mark's pre service was fantastic - he was helpful, informative, and friendly. He spent time with us ensuring that we understood how everything worked and encouraging us to call if there were any problems. We will definitely be renting from Mark in the future.

Vandango

After first coming across Oxcamper vans at the Boneshaker (an off-road duathlon held in Arlington) in September 2012, we decided to find a running event to enter suitably far away from us so we had an excuse to hire one of their brilliant vans.

Forward to the beginning of May 2013 where we hired Croyde for a weekend in Yorkshire (testimonial - Campervans Are Even For Messy People.) We were so impressed we decided to hire Bondi for a weekend at the beginning of June to test drive a poptop van and see if we really wanted one of our own.

Fast forward again to the beginning of July. We had bought our base van and contacted Mark to talk to him about converting it into a fantastic camper. He listened to all our ideas, said yes to all of them and best of all he found some amazing brightly-coloured laminate to make the cupboards from and so Vandango was born.

Mark had Vandango for only 3 weeks and transformed him from a rather dull white lwb T5 into a blue and orange palace. His workmanship is superb and the inside of Vandango is magnificent. I should probably apologise to him now for my first reaction on seeing the inside, when he delivered the van back to us, was to give him a huge hug...sorry Mark!!

Thank you so much,

Mike, Lynda & Alexa's New Camper

We have just had our T4 conversion completed by Mark at Oxcampers and we couldn't be happier with the result. Mark was an enormous help in advising us on the most suitable layout for our needs and as a bonus was able to show a couple of examples in the flesh! His selection of sample finishes gave us a real feel for how the van would look making me confident I'd made the right decisions before completion. Whilst his attention to detail was exceptional, it was the way that he kept us up to date with the progress that really impressed. The occasional emailed photo kept me informed not to mention excited! Marks passion for what he does is clear in the quality of the finished product and I can honestly say that I would not hesitate to recommend Oxcampers to anyone looking for a conversion.

Thanks

A wet weekend at the International Horse Trials, Blenheim Palace

Dear OXCampers

Thank you for the chance to experience a campervan weekend. We had a wonderful time finding all the handy storage spaces in Bondi, and settled in in no time. Despite horrible weather we were warm and dry and so pleased to return to Bondi each evening, switch on the lights and get cosy. 3 blondes in a Campervan may be the title for a comedy of errors sketch however it was far from it! From the Labrador snoring at night and happy campers with a warm cup of Nespresso coffee each morning it was a huge success.

Many thanks & best wishes

Adam's VW T5 Conversion

I was recommended Marks services as I was interested in converting a VW van into a camper. Mark was able to offer in advice on the benefits of a T5 or T4 as I use the van on a daily basis for work and as a promotional vehicle. I think it has to be highlighted that Mark's knowledge of all VW's is excellent due to the fact he is a VW trained mechanic. This gave me extra confidence when Mark did the lowering, fitting of the wheels and windows.

So we have had a summer of great trips away enjoying the brilliant weather that Britain has experienced this year. As a marketing tool for the business at events it steals the show every time. A lot of the time people are more interested in the van itself!

As a camper, it is very well laid out and Mark was able to offer a number of variations on materials and finishes for the units and floor and could give us real life experiences of how they would work and work in the van. Small details like in cabinet lights, the way one cupboard opens when the bed is out so we can get stuff out to make a cup of coffee in the morning mean that Mark really knows what he is doing.

As a craftsman Mark is second to none! I would say this is the best compliment he could hear but most people's comments are "that must of cost a fortune as you have brought a brand new camper from VW". That is probably the best way to describe his work, individual to your needs but workmanship to a level that it looks completely original.

So to sum up; I would not trust anyone else if and when I get another camper converted and if you have a business and go to events, a campervan is one of, if not the best marketing tool I have invested in because of their cult following people remember them.

End Of The Road Festival 2013

We hired Croyde to visit the End of the Road Festival. It was a revolution in the world of festivals! The camper was perfect-everything you could think of had been provided. The bed was extra comfy and roomy and all the features were v welcome. Our only problem is deciding where we are going to go next!

Jen Wylie

Croyde's Leeds festival Experience

We took Croyde to Leeds Festival, he was immaculate when we picked him up and kitted out to a VERY high standard. Mark, his owner had thought of everything and included all the little things we'd forgotten!

Mark was so easy going and friendly, an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Inside, Croyde is spacious and comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed!! Everything we needed for cooking was provided and having two gas rings was really useful. The furnishings were stylish, clean and new and people commented on how lovely he looked.

I found Croyde easy to drive and enjoyed having the ipod connector so we could listen to our music as well as the radio. Croyde's got a great sound system which makes all the difference! There was loads of space for all our gear so we had plenty of room whether we were travelling or camping.

I would recommend Croyde to anyone and can't wait until our next trip.

Croyde's certainly given us the Camper-Bug.

Jen Hooper

Bondi's Cornbury Experience

Not knowing Wantage we thought we had made a wrong turn among the streets of houses, that is until we saw all 3 of the Oxcampers vans gleaming in the sunshine and looking magnificent. We had already seen the pictures ofBondi but he looked even better in person. Mark was extremely welcoming and the pickup process could not have been simpler compared to our Cruise America experience (2 hours of queues and hassle) it was a breeze, in fact compared to any other rental experience it was a breeze. Within 20 minutes, most of which was spent chatting and loading our stuff, we were on our merry way to the Cornbury Festival about an hour away. Not being avid festival goers having the van was great as we had somewhere comfortable to sit and to sleep off hangovers without having to worry about how safe our gear was in a tent and without melting as soon as the sun came up.

We then took the van down to Cornwall for a week and it performed equally well on the A and B roads as it did on the motorway and the driving experience was not in the least bit stressful, and once used to the van it was no more challenging than driving any car. We even managed to manoeuvre around Mousehole (for those that have not had that experience would be nerve wracking in a Fiat 500) without too much difficulty and with the assistance of a few friendly locals watching out for plant pots and pedestrians toes!

Quick word on Bondi, we loved the pop up roof as it gave us an extra sleeping berth which came in handy when Amy developed a cold and wanted more space I popped up top and had a comfortable nights sleep free of tissues and coughing! The pop up was also great as it meant I could stand up fully to get dressed (I am 62 and had acres of room) and I am not sure I would go for a van without a pop up now but that is just personal preference. We completely fell for Bondi and he is now the base model from which we are planning our own conversion!

For anyone who loves camping but hates the hassle of tent camping (not to mention having to lie down to put on your trousers and the constant buzz of zips opening and closing) I would strongly recommend trying a camper trip and I would 100% recommend using Mark and OxCampers as the experience was free from hassle, affordable and Mark is such a nice bloke its like borrowing from a friend rather than renting from a faceless company. I would be happy to provide a reference if you are still unsure, Mark has my number and I am happy for him to pass it on to any prospective campers.

When my youngest suggested going away in a camper I booked Bondi. It was just the 2 of us. The van (which seemed small) managed to fit in all of our stuff and still had plenty of space spare. This was our first camper experience and we enjoyed it so much we would book one again. It was really cosy in the rain too. I've already been recommending Bondi to others, just hope it's available for us to use next time :-)

Thank you

Simon & Sarah visit the Lakes

We hired Fistral for a week at the start of July during the most fantastic weather and we had a lovely time in the Lake District followed by a weekend in Dorset with friends and family. Everyone who saw the van was impressed with how good it looked. We found it really comfortable and all the things included were really helpful all the little things that you would forget to take with you such as salt and pepper, a pack of cards and washing-up supplies.

Unfortunately on the first night of having the van we somehow managed to lose the keys, this was immensely stressful and despite retracing our steps several times (we had only ventured by foot to a couple of places within 500m of the campsite!) we were unable to find them. Mark was incredibly understanding of our stupidity (!) and arranged for someone to get us into the campervan so we would at least be able to sleep in there overnight. He then arranged for the spare keys to be sent to us within 24 hours which meant that our plans didnt even have to change.

Despite this stress, we soon forgot about it when we were back on the road exploring the lakes, and we even got engaged on our trip. With that, and the incredible weather England was experiencing, our holiday is one of the most memorable and brilliant we have had, and Fistral was definitely a big part of why we had such a great time. We are looking forward to our next trip (maybe our honeymoon.!).

Thanks very much Sarah & Simon

Mandy & Vinces 1st Camper Experience

Just a quick email to say a big thanks for introducing us to the world of VW campers. We had a great weekend in "Croyde" and cannot wait to have another break in Bondi. We found the van extremely clean and well set out and the bed was as comfortable as our own, plus Mandy is still commenting on the fresh smell of the bedding!!! We would have no hesitation on recommending Oxcampers to anyone who wants to give them a try. Best of luck and look forward to our next experience.

All the best cheers Mandy and Vince

Fistral's 1st Glastonbury Trip

Just about recovered from an excellent Glastonbury Festival - We went up market this year and found OxCampers - Totally changed our festival experience. We hired Fistral and she was amazing - it was so nice to come back from a day and to chill out in her, all mod cons even down to salt and pepper - AMAZING - so much so that we have provisionally booked to use OxCampers next year and every year thereafter (tickets depending). I dont think I will ever go back to a tent. Highly recommended, great service, great people, great van :)

Thanks Mark and team!

Kate & Colins T5 mod's

We are very pleased with the conversion work that OXCampers has done for us on our T5. Mark really does know what he is talking about and was happy to spend time helping us refine our ideas.

We would certainly recommend them!

Breaking our Camper Cherry

We'd never been in a camper before so we were really pleased with the service we received from Mark, nothing was too much trouble when we were making our booking. When we picked up Bondi and took him home to load up we couldn't believe how good the conversion was and how much equipment came with the van. Once we were away we found that every thing was exactly where we needed it and also all the other nice little touches which made our trip even better.

We've already recommended Oxcampers to friends and will be hiring again soon!

The Brown families 1st camper van experience

After thinking for some time that we might want a Surf Bus we hired Fistral to try the experience out for real. The family is hooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend from the first moment we collected Fistral. The freedom we felt was wonderful. The pace of life leisurely and relaxed. Our 5 year old daughter loved being up in front with me and my wife as much as she enjoyed playing in the back and settling down to sleep at night. She had an unprecedented glow about her that we think was as much to do with Fistral as it was the outside air. Topped by Mark's helpfulness and relaxed but professional attitude I would recommend a weekend in one of Oxcamper's vehicles to anyone.

Thanks again

Martin

Fistral's 1st trip of 2013

We hired a camper to find out what it was like, and to see if we want to buy one. Weve done lots of tent camping in the past, so this is a definite step up! Fistral went along very well, although I soon realised 50-60 mph on A roads is where it is happiest! No problem keeping up with motorway traffic if you want to though.

Friday night on Exmoor was wet, cold, and windy just the sort of night when you would not want to be in a tent! The problem was trying to make the decision to get out of the very comfortable bed on a grey Saturday morning! The interior layout of Fistral gives a nice big bed, with all the necessary fitttings that you need with the sink and cooker, which are all easy to use, especially with the flush glass covers. The van is equipped with just enough of the right things to ensure that you dont have to take anything with you, without weighing it down with clutter. We especially liked the salt and pepper!

Mark gives a very good service and is helpful and professional, so we know where to go for our next hire!

Camper Vans Are Even For Messy People

The two word review: Loved it!

The longer version: Well lets start with the bad bit. Oxcampers apparently take no responsibility for the traffic on the M1 on a Friday evening of bank holiday weekend. Seven hours from Wantage to Scarborough!

The good thing is that I drove all the way and did not have an acute attack of numb bum despite only having two short stops to let the dog out. On the odd occasion when we did get clear road Croyde was quite happy to tootle along with the best of them. There was more than enough at the top end to keep up with anything else on the road, enough acceleration to go past caravans easily once we got on the A-roads, went round all the bends problem free. Couldnt have asked for more. Difficult to know what say next. We could rave about the really good nights sleep in the full width bed. Or about the coffee that can be made without getting out of bed. Or the cutest squashable kettle in the entire world. Loved the swivel Captains chair for the passenger. We enjoyed the nightly game of tetris, although we hadnt realised on the Friday that it is actually a solo game. Much easier once we cottoned on and one of us took the dog for a walk whilst the other rearranged the van.

Now planning a weekend away in Bondi and emptying the garage so we can get one of our own!

Bondi's first outing

Hi Mark, Just to say we had a really fab weekend away in Bondi. It drove very well to Charmouth and we had a lovely stay on the campsite there also driving it to Lyme Regis. We have never camped before (not even a tent!) so this was a first time on a campsite. Our 4 year old son was totally excited and loved every moment. He thought it was great sleeping in the pop up top and it was certainly lovely and airy up there. We had many compliments about Bondi and we thought it looked wonderfully cool in bright red - someone actually asked if they could take a photo of it and another lady asked where we had hired it. We are delighted to have made contact with Oxcampers and look forward to hiring Bondi again.

With all good wishes, Fiona, Andrew and Rory

Chris & Jane 21st - 30th December 2012

In an effort to find a cheaper way to go skiing in the Alps, we decided to try a camper-van after meeting Mark from Oxcampers at a recent charity event. Mark's enthusiasm persuaded us to give it a go! Heres a summary of how it went, what we learned and tips for the next time!

We left from Oxford and drove to the french Alps in about 11 hours. We stopped plenty of times for cuppas and even used the stove in the back for our lunchtime soup! The drive was quite easy. Upon arriving in Chamonix we stayed at Les 2 Glaciers campsite, just on the edge of the town. Using a campsite is important.... allowing us to shower, store kit and dry clothes in the drying-room and also to plug in a heater for the van. The heater worked... we were NOT cold! Despite freezing temps outside the van was snug and warm with a small heater. Each day we would breakfast in the van, then drive to a ski area and head up the mountains. Some days we skied back to the van for lunch using the gas stove, other times we ate at the restaurants. Similarly in the evening; some nights we drove to a restaurant, other times we cooked in the van. All in all, it was a very economical way to ski for a week, the campsite was about 130, diesel, euro tunnel and road tolls about 450. If you add the cost of the camper, and bear in mind you can eat cheaply in the camper, it was about 500 each for a weeks ski! Add to that we had transport whenever we needed it, we could drive to wherever the snow was best AND we had fun! I would happily go again in the van. Recommended tips are: use euro tunnel, don't take too much, use a campsite with electric and a drying room, eat some meals out as a treat and enjoy the adventure.

Mark, Lydia & Scarlett, 27th October - 3rd November 2012

We decided to hire Croyde for the half-term so that we could quickly get down to Cornwall. Great hire prices and a lovely van that took us there in good time. Comfy seats and plenty of space for the 3 of us. Economical and warm with a really good heater. We had lots of fun for 4 nights in Cornwall whilst staying in a camping pod but used the cooking facilities of the van too. We all liked riding around in it so much that we also went to Great Malvern on the last day of our hire for a bracing walk up the Malvern Hills which was made all the better for knowing that we would be having a lovely mug of hot chocolate in Croyde when we got back down again.

Thanks Lydia

Simon & Louise's Conversion

Hi Mark! We've just got home after our first weekend away in "Peter" (Peter was Louise's Dad, he was a coach builder and cabinet maker and we thought he'd approve of the cabinets etc. in the van.) It was brilliant, we had a fantastic time and the van was ace. The bed was really comfy and the cupboard layout worked a treat. Thanks so much for such a wonderful conversion.

Simon and Louise.

Nick & Ruth, 7th - 20th September

We hired Croyde for 13 nights, and travelled up to Western Scotland. It was our first trip away as a family with a 5 month baby, so we were hoping we had everything with us! The van was fantastic from the off, and was really comfortable on the long drive up north. Our first night took a bit of getting used to in terms of packing everything away to get the bed out, but by the end of the trip, we had the nightly game of Tetris down to a fine art! The van had everything we needed to keep ourselves fed and watered, with some really nice touches like kitchen roll and olive oil, and it felt so comfortable and cosy in the evenings, despite the howling gales outside! All in all, a fantastic trip, and we've got the bug now, so we're looking forward to our next trip already!

Hannah, 13th - 16th July 2012

We hired Croyde for Latitude Festival in July and it was fantastic! The service we received from Mark and Kyja was second to none; they were really helpful and accommodating and we couldn't believe the price! The van was really comfy and had everything we needed. We'll definitely be using them again!

Matt & Deb, 1st - 5th September 2012

Thanks Mark and Kyja @ oxcampers... Van was great, everything we needed, bit of luxury, and really warm. Really economical too.... Look forward to our next trip! Deb & Matt Smith

Giuseppe & Family, 17th - 27th August 2012

Kelly & Paul, Bug Jam 2012

Just want to say what a great weekend we had at Bug Jam 26 with Fistral. Made an amazing weekend perfect. We had everything we wanted and we'll definitely be hiring one again, we have the camper bug!! Thank you so much :-)

Rose-Anne & Graheme, 11th-14th May 2012

First time in a VW Camper. What a great weekend. The awning was very helpful to dump stuff in to give us more space. attention to detail meant that there was nothing else we needed.

Thank you Mark

Amanda & Paul, 5th-9th May 2012

My partner and I hired Fistral at the beginning of May and we both loved it. The van had everything we needed and only added clothes and food to enjoy our trip. Mark was very helpful and the little extras e.g milk to start the trip with make it even better. We would highly recommend oxcampers to anyone wanting to enjoy a trip away.

Nick & Zoe's trip, 2nd-6th April 2012

I found Mark from OxCampers to be very well organised, friendly, professional and passionate about the campervan experience. I was very reasured by the very high standard of the campervan and excellent explanation of the key functions. The campervan was in perfect condition, very clean, tidy and great fuel efficiency (we got from Oxford to Glasgow on less than one tank!) Small things like the ipod dock, good quality bedding, everything you could want in the kitchen and funky table area made all the difference. All paperwork, insurance, emergency numbers etc were in order. Overall, a very positive experience which we have already recommended to friends. Thanks Mark!

Annie & Howards trip South, 16th-19th April 2012

Annie and I hired a VW Camper Van from Oxcampers a couple of weeks ago. It was first class value and we really enjoyed the whole holiday. Everything went so well; we highly recommend Oxcampers and plan to use them again this summer. Thanks Mark for making it all so easy.

Tracey's weekend break, 23rd-25th March 2012

The weekend I spent in Fistral was lots of fun!

I was a little worried as I havn't driven a van this big before but Oxcampers did everything to reassure me. They showed me all the facilities and how to use them. I was confident that there would be help if I needed it. The campers are equipped with everything you need and even with a large dog they still had plenty of room. I would definitely recommend Oxcampers to anyone wanting the freedom to just jump in a van and go off on a road trip.

Maria's Peugeot Boxer Refit

Hello Mark, Just wanted to say what a superb job you did with my van. I asked for it to be insulated, carpeting of interior, including re-placing roof lining and carpeting that, fitting of lights, a leisure battery - and new table and so on. You were true to your word and did the job within the agreed timescale, prompt and efficient. The finish was excellent, you transformed my van from being tired to showroom condition. I would recommend your work to anyone, very friendly, professional, 10/10. You prices are very competitive, anyone wanting. Van lined etc - Marks your man. Many Thanks Maria
