Based in Baydon, Wiltshire, OXCampers is a family run business born through wanting to share our love and passion for travelling the country in a VW Camper with others. Kyja and I were introduced to the VW Camper scene through our good friends Pete and Suzie back in June 2009, when they purchased their VW T4, named Girtie.
Having both been brought up on camping and boating holidays, we decided that buying a camper was the next step for us. So, five months later, after weeks of searching the internet, we purchased our first VW T4 (Croyde), which, once converted, sparked the idea of what is now OXCampers!
At the time, our dream was for our business to not only support our young family but also provide customers with lifelong memories. As the business grew so did our hire fleet, and our 10-year plan soon became to own all brand new VWs
Fast forward 14 years and we now own five T6.1’s and also one of the very lastest T7’s.
All our campervans can sleep four people comfortably. Don’t be fooled by the size—everything you need is in the van, and there’s plenty of storage space for all your belongings. You just need to bring a bag of clothes and a few groceries. If we can manage two weeks road-tripping around Spain with two young children and a Labrador, then you can, too!
We hope that by hiring out our vans, we can give others the opportunity to kick back, relax and explore our beautiful country in comfort and style.

We have just collected our converted van and are completely thrilled with it. The quality of the conversion and the level of service we received were both excellent – we were kept updated on progress during the conversion and there were no hidden costs or extras. I was convinced to use Oxcampers to convert our van after hiring one of their campers for a holiday last year and would certainly recommend them for van hire also!
Rented the Chesil for a week, fantastic van and service. Mark and co were responsive and easy going, made the whole experience super easy right from the initial enquiry. The van was fantastically appointed for a week in Scotland, with all the fittings to make the trip comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

You have to rent from these people. They are passionate about their campers, and every detail is considered to make your holiday so much easier. OXCAMPERS did the full camper conversion including: Internal linings and insulation, SCA pop top, RIB bed, storage, seating and appliances, 12 & 24v electrics, Diesel heater, tow bar and solar I could have got the conversion done cheaper elsewhere and spoke to many others beforehand, but following the first discussion with Mark at the beginning of the journey, I had decided that his company would do the work. I’m lucky that I live only 40 minutes from his premises though it probably wouldn’t have mattered if it was hours away. Plenty of choices for various elements were offered and the ‘good and bad’ of most was explained by Mark with no pressure to agree to anything. Communication before and during the refit was continual and the workmanship is second to none. He puts a lot of thought into creating a space that is both purposeful and pleasing on the eye and includes subtle extras which is a nice touch. I have been away for two camping trips since the works were completed and there has been not one single issue with anything. Not a screw loose anywhere or bulb out etc – which considering the amount of work carried out, is almost unheard of these days. I would definitely recommend you approach OXCAMPERS if you are considering getting a van converted.

Superb workmanship and outstanding service, before, during, and after the work was complete.
Our first meeting was friendly and informative. Mark’s knowledge and experience gave us every confidence that OXcampers would be the right choice. Plenty of time was given going through the various options, but as others have said, no hard sell, just honest straight forward advice. It was clear from the outset that we were talking to somebody that was not only competent and experienced, but was also passionate and experienced about camper vans and an outdoor lifestyle.
During the conversion process we were kept up to date throughout. Our van had previously had work done by other companies that presented a couple of challenges and mid conversion decisions were needed. In every instance Mark was on the phone straight away to discuss the options available to us so as to avoid unnecessary delays.
The end result is superb. We were given a thorough explanation and advice on how everything worked and made sure that we were entirely happy before we went on our way.
The quality of the furniture and the workmanship is outstanding, can’t fault it one bit.
After sales service is second to none, we had a couple of minor issues, nothing that spoilt our enjoyment or use of the van, but Mark was on it without delay or hesitation putting them right immediately.
We’ve now had the van a few months and absolutely love it. It has exceeded our expectations and having had some use already the excellent quality of the work and materials used is evident.
If you are thinking of getting a conversion or having work done on your van, I can’t recommend OXcampers highly enough. You won’t be disappointed!
