Based in Baydon, Wiltshire, OXCampers is a family run business born through wanting to share our love and passion for travelling the country in a VW Camper with others. Kyja and I were introduced to the VW Camper scene through our good friends Pete and Suzie back in June 2009, when they purchased their VW T4, named Girtie.
Having both been brought up on camping and boating holidays, we decided that buying a camper was the next step for us. So, five months later, after weeks of searching the internet, we purchased our first VW T4 (Croyde), which, once converted, sparked the idea of what is now OXCampers!
At the time, our dream was for our business to not only support our young family but also provide customers with lifelong memories. As the business grew so did our hire fleet, and our 10-year plan soon became to own all brand new VWs
Fast forward 14 years and we now own five T6.1’s and also one of the very lastest T7’s.
All our campervans can sleep four people comfortably. Don’t be fooled by the size—everything you need is in the van, and there’s plenty of storage space for all your belongings. You just need to bring a bag of clothes and a few groceries. If we can manage two weeks road-tripping around Spain with two young children and a Labrador, then you can, too!
We hope that by hiring out our vans, we can give others the opportunity to kick back, relax and explore our beautiful country in comfort and style.

We have just collected our converted van and are completely thrilled with it. The quality of the conversion and the level of service we received were both excellent – we were kept updated on progress during the conversion and there were no hidden costs or extras. I was convinced to use Oxcampers to convert our van after hiring one of their campers for a holiday last year and would certainly recommend them for van hire also!
Rented the Chesil for a week, fantastic van and service. Mark and co were responsive and easy going, made the whole experience super easy right from the initial enquiry. The van was fantastically appointed for a week in Scotland, with all the fittings to make the trip comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Hired Saunton through OxCampers and had a first ever camper van experience away in Cornwall at the weekend with the wife and two kids. You have to rent from these people. They are passionate about their campers, and every detail is considered to make your holiday so much easier. Communication was never an issue, all details meticulously conveyed. Will absolutely recommend (and already have) this crew to anyone looking to get away and try the #vanlife. I approached Oxcampers for some guidance on how best the convert my VW T5 panel van, the reason we chose them was due to the very open approach via their Facebook page photographing each and every stage of the conversion process on multiple customers vehicles and there were lots to look at for ideas.
We visited Mark to see the set up of his operation and were extremely impressed with his workshop and he showed us around some of his hire vans and some current projects to demonstrate the quality of his work.
He walked us through each and every option we had and was very honest and helpful at every stage.
We finally booked in the van with a mammoth list of tasks for Mark to complete and made the decision to follow the stages of our progressing project via the Facebook page.
Finally the day came for us to collect the Camper and he had done an excellent job, before we left he walked us through the stages of setting up the camper and using each element.
All in all a fantastic service highly recommended professional company who I would/will use time and time again.

Picked up our Hyundai iload last weekend and have spent the week driving it out and about visiting family and friends. Not only are we REALLY pleased with the work Mark has done in transforming a “builders” van into a day van but the overall opinion of everyone who has seen it is “Wow, what a really professional job.”
We know the van isn’t Mark’s usual choice of subject to work with but having driven the van over and discussed our requirements with him he seemed happy to carry out the work. Now we’ve got it back we couldn’t be happier.

Touring around in our old T2, we’d seen a few conversions but looking at his hire vehicles convinced us to hand our shiny new T5 panel van to Mark at Oxcampers. We talked through with Mark what we wanted and got good, clear advice.
Having collected the finished opus, we’re very pleased. The quality of the work, the attention to detail and the finishing touches all add to the overall impressive result. Just what we asked for.
We’ve been driving the van for a couple of weeks now, it always brings a smile to our faces. We have no doubt that this will continue for years to come.
Once we’ve got a few more nights away under our belts, we’ll return to have some bells and whistles added.

You’ve taken our old builders van and turned it into a lush camper! It’s absolutely amazing what you’ve managed to achieve. Still struggling to believe it’s ours!!!

We’re really pleased with the van thank you. When we got back on Sunday we sat in it and had our first cup of tea and tried out all the switches and things. We have to confess to being a bit anxious about letting the green goddess out of our sight, but Su’s (Alison’s colleague) recommendation put our minds at rest and the fact that you are reasonably local was good and were able to visit at crucial points in the build. Thanks for being so flexible and diplomatic (!) when we suggested something which was obviously a bit mad. Having spent 2 weeks in the van on a “pumpy-up” bed in France last summer, we are really looking forward to a comfy bed and we can’t wait for our first trip away, we have the whole of 2015 ahead of us and are looking forward to buying you (and your long-suffering wife!) a beer and meeting the rest of your family at some VW Fest somewhere very soon!
We truly have no hesitation in recommending Oxcampers.
