Based in Baydon, Wiltshire, OXCampers is a family run business born through wanting to share our love and passion for travelling the country in a VW Camper with others. Kyja and I were introduced to the VW Camper scene through our good friends Pete and Suzie back in June 2009, when they purchased their VW T4, named Girtie.
Having both been brought up on camping and boating holidays, we decided that buying a camper was the next step for us. So, five months later, after weeks of searching the internet, we purchased our first VW T4 (Croyde), which, once converted, sparked the idea of what is now OXCampers!
At the time, our dream was for our business to not only support our young family but also provide customers with lifelong memories. As the business grew so did our hire fleet, and our 10-year plan soon became to own all brand new VWs
Fast forward 14 years and we now own five T6.1’s and also one of the very lastest T7’s.
All our campervans can sleep four people comfortably. Don’t be fooled by the size—everything you need is in the van, and there’s plenty of storage space for all your belongings. You just need to bring a bag of clothes and a few groceries. If we can manage two weeks road-tripping around Spain with two young children and a Labrador, then you can, too!
We hope that by hiring out our vans, we can give others the opportunity to kick back, relax and explore our beautiful country in comfort and style.

We have just collected our converted van and are completely thrilled with it. The quality of the conversion and the level of service we received were both excellent – we were kept updated on progress during the conversion and there were no hidden costs or extras. I was convinced to use Oxcampers to convert our van after hiring one of their campers for a holiday last year and would certainly recommend them for van hire also!
Rented the Chesil for a week, fantastic van and service. Mark and co were responsive and easy going, made the whole experience super easy right from the initial enquiry. I contacted Mark with this idea of converting our Sprinter into a Camper Van for my family, admittedly Mark told me he had never done one but would love to take on the works.
He helped out with the internal layout/design from the off, took on board our requirements as a family and made a few fantastic suggestions, once the quote was received and pricing agreed we dropped the van off for Mark to crack on with.
He updated us throughout the project with photos on Facebook, messages and let us drop in whenever we were passing.
The works were carried out to the highest standards, the craftsmanship was amazing, the original idea was for me to have a crack at it myself but the difference between what I could do and what Mark has achieved is poles apart. Our children were so excited during the project, seeing the van change daily.
After receiving the call from Mark telling me the Van was ready I was like a kid in a sweet shop, I drove my wife and children over to Mark telling them we needed to see him about a few bits and the van wouldn’t be ready for a few weeks, when we got there and they could see it was completed they were all over the moon, we’ve just had our first weekend away as a family and I’ve got to say this will be the start of many a night/weekend breaks for us, we have everything we need, the van sleeps 5 of us (plus a puppy, thanks to Mark’s cute dog) and can’t wait for the sun to shine and start to many many weekends away.

We have just had our old Electrician’s work van, a VW T4, converted to a campervan by Mark at Oxcampers and we couldn’t be more satisfied and happy with the result.
Mark was a great help from the start, he had a good knowledge of what needed to be done and how to achieve the finish we wanted. He was able to show us his vans which he had converted for examples and he was able to advise us on the different options available for us. He had a good selection of different samples to choose from to get the style and colour we wanted.
After dropping off the old van for conversion Mark kept us up to date with regular progress photos and emails. When we picked up the van we were very impressed with the finish and his attention to detail.
You can see from the conversion that Mark has a great passion for what he does and this is also clear in the quality of the finished product. We can honestly say that we would not hesitate to recommend Oxcampers and Mark to anyone looking for a conversion.
Since having the van converted we have been on 3 very successful trips and the van has work well on all of them, even surviving wet and windy weather.

We were looking at converting a T5.1 panel van into a window/kombi van. Mark sat down with us and went through all the different options available. His knowledge and experience with the vans made this a very easy process and after a cup of tea we had agreed the works to be carried out.
Less than 2 weeks later, what was our standard white panel van now looks amazing. Mark is a complete perfectionist and the level of craftsmanship in the van speaks for itself. He kept us informed on the progress of the van and the photos he had posted just built our excitement to see the van complete. We were not disappointed. We were speechless!
Mark’s professionalism and Volkswagen background is second to none and with his passion for Oxcampers there isn’t one thing he doesn’t know about the vans and their potential.
I would not hesitate in recommending Oxcampers to anyone looking at having any type of conversion work carried out.

I found Oxcampers, Mark, to be the closest T5 conversion company near to me. My wife and I visited him over 1 year ago, to look at his campers and get some ideas. The dilemma was whether to buy a camper already fitted or to get a van an have a conversion.
Mark was great with his advice and solved the dilemma in a simple sentence, Most people want a camper to be their own and have the interior as they would like.
So the job was on, find a van and get an interior to our liking. We followed his advice looking at magazines etc. 1 year later and we had a T5, and as soon as I had the van, partially done, I called Mark to see if he would complete the conversion.
Meanwhile we had trawled the internet of all the usual conversion specialists and Marks advice firmly a foundation when we scoured the various designs. We found the design and style we liked. Cambee campers retro.
Mark did the rest he ordered the kit, ensured the smooth running of the project from beginning to completion. Keeping us informed along the way. A professional and courteous service for a small family firm.
