Based in Baydon, Wiltshire, OXCampers is a family run business born through wanting to share our love and passion for travelling the country in a VW Camper with others. Kyja and I were introduced to the VW Camper scene through our good friends Pete and Suzie back in June 2009, when they purchased their VW T4, named Girtie.
Having both been brought up on camping and boating holidays, we decided that buying a camper was the next step for us. So, five months later, after weeks of searching the internet, we purchased our first VW T4 (Croyde), which, once converted, sparked the idea of what is now OXCampers!
At the time, our dream was for our business to not only support our young family but also provide customers with lifelong memories. As the business grew so did our hire fleet, and our 10-year plan soon became to own all brand new VWs
Fast forward 14 years and we now own five T6.1’s and also one of the very lastest T7’s.
All our campervans can sleep four people comfortably. Don’t be fooled by the size—everything you need is in the van, and there’s plenty of storage space for all your belongings. You just need to bring a bag of clothes and a few groceries. If we can manage two weeks road-tripping around Spain with two young children and a Labrador, then you can, too!
We hope that by hiring out our vans, we can give others the opportunity to kick back, relax and explore our beautiful country in comfort and style.

We have just collected our converted van and are completely thrilled with it. The quality of the conversion and the level of service we received were both excellent – we were kept updated on progress during the conversion and there were no hidden costs or extras. I was convinced to use Oxcampers to convert our van after hiring one of their campers for a holiday last year and would certainly recommend them for van hire also!
Rented the Chesil for a week, fantastic van and service. Mark and co were responsive and easy going, made the whole experience super easy right from the initial enquiry. The van was fantastically appointed for a week in Scotland, with all the fittings to make the trip comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Hired Saunton through OxCampers and had a first ever camper van experience away in Cornwall at the weekend with the wife and two kids. You have to rent from these people. They are passionate about their campers, and every detail is considered to make your holiday so much easier. Communication was never an issue, all details meticulously conveyed. Will absolutely recommend (and already have) this crew to anyone looking to get away and try the #vanlife. If your considering them to convert your van, then tap them up, they know what they’re talking about.
We’d never been in a camper before so we were really pleased with the service we received from Mark, nothing was too much trouble when we were making our booking. When we picked up Bondi and took him home to load up we couldn’t believe how good the conversion was and how much equipment came with the van. Once we were away we found that every thing was exactly where we needed it and also all the other nice little touches which made our trip even better.
We’ve already recommended Oxcampers to friends and will be hiring again soon!
Mark, I am totally blown away with the excellent job you have done on my camper. I’m looking forward to some trips to France as well as camping over after a few long-distance gigs! Also, I must thank you for all the free advice you have given, you are very helpful. Will be back again soon for some electric windows!!

Hi Mark! We’ve just got home after our first weekend away in “Peter” (Peter was Louise’s Dad, he was a coach builder and cabinet maker and we thought he’d approve of the cabinets etc. in the van.) It was brilliant, we had a fantastic time and the van was ace. The bed was really comfy and the cupboard layout worked a treat. Thanks so much for such a wonderful conversion.

Hello Mark, Just wanted to say what a superb job you did with my van. I asked for it to be insulated, carpeting of interior, including re-placing roof lining and carpeting that, fitting of lights, a leisure battery – and new table and so on. You were true to your word and did the job within the agreed timescale, prompt and efficient. The finish was excellent, you transformed my van from being tired to showroom condition. I would recommend your work to anyone, very friendly, professional, 10/10. You prices are very competitive, anyone wanting. Van lined etc – Marks your man. Many Thanks Maria
