Based in Baydon, Wiltshire, OXCampers is a family run business born through wanting to share our love and passion for travelling the country in a VW Camper with others. Kyja and I were introduced to the VW Camper scene through our good friends Pete and Suzie back in June 2009, when they purchased their VW T4, named Girtie.
Having both been brought up on camping and boating holidays, we decided that buying a camper was the next step for us. So, five months later, after weeks of searching the internet, we purchased our first VW T4 (Croyde), which, once converted, sparked the idea of what is now OXCampers!
At the time, our dream was for our business to not only support our young family but also provide customers with lifelong memories. As the business grew so did our hire fleet, and our 10-year plan soon became to own all brand new VWs
Fast forward 14 years and we now own five T6.1’s and also one of the very lastest T7’s.
All our campervans can sleep four people comfortably. Don’t be fooled by the size—everything you need is in the van, and there’s plenty of storage space for all your belongings. You just need to bring a bag of clothes and a few groceries. If we can manage two weeks road-tripping around Spain with two young children and a Labrador, then you can, too!
We hope that by hiring out our vans, we can give others the opportunity to kick back, relax and explore our beautiful country in comfort and style.

Had an excellent very long weekend away in mid-Wales in Fistral last week (13-18th Sept). Good strong engine in the van, easy on the motorway, no problem through the lanes, made it up the steep hills easily. Inside is perfectly fitted out. All very well organised and my car was paked in a gated & fenced enclosure. Very happy, will return.
We hired Cromer for a long weekend away in the Brecon Beacons to meet our friends who have VW camper vans themselves although it was our first experience of camper vans it was certainly one to remember the location and company were great and the camper van was faultless, very well equipped with everything we needed and drove great.
Mark you were a pleasure to deal with and have asked my friends if they need any further conversion work or additions to contact you. Thank you.
Back in October 2013 we hired Fistral for 5 nights over a long weekend and headed off to Wales for an Autumn road trip. We had a great time, renting the van from Mark was easy and he was really helpful and friendly.
In May 2015 we were back, a long held plan to tour Scotland worked out and we booked Croyde for the trip. Again it was really easy and Mark had done extra work on the van because he knew we were away for a while. It is so much better to deal with someone who knows all about the vans, he built them; than a big company – it is much more personal.
So by now we were hooked, when I spoke to people with camper vans they all said they didn’t regret having one. I pestered Mark for advice before hand, discussed the options, got an idea of what it would cost to get it done. Armed with this I knew what the whole thing (van and conversion) would cost and in June we bought a Van and once all the choices over finishes and colours were sorted he just got on and did it.
The result is brilliant, we knew what to expect having rented from Oxcampers, but the end result is great.
If you want to rent a van, have some work done on a van or have one converted I would happily recommend Mark to do it.

We had a brilliant time in Cromer. The van had everything we needed and kept us warm and cosy in the wild weather, whilst also giving us a great base when the sun shone! Just loved the spontaneity of being able to shut the door and drive off to a new place when we fancied it. Mark was great through the booking, handover and return explaining everything we needed and being on hand for any questions. Cannot wait to line up a van for Mark to convert in to our very own version of Cromer. Our heart definitely lies in a VW camper van!
We first approached Mark at Oxcampers and firstly hired Croyde for a week in Cornwall. An excellent van, so good in fact we decided we needed our own! Myself and my wife (Lesley) are both active scuba divers and we needed the van to carry our dive kit and give us a base to stay in for our frequent weekends away. We sat down with Mark and agreed our design and specification. Mark supplied detail costings and was a great font of knowledge of all things campers. Our extensive wish list became reality and construction was started. Mark kept us informed throughout the build via Facebook and email. We took delivery and it matched all our expectations and exceeded in many. The van is an absolute joy and I must say the bed is a design based in heaven with comfort to match. The rear storage space is millimetre perfect for our dive equipment and the extra shelves are perfect for our bits and bobs of which we have loads. Marks quality of work and attention to detail is second to none and ensures you are not disappointed.
As you can tell we are bowled over by Marks work and I cannot thank him enough. If you are wanting a van converted then you should look no further than Oxcampers.

We originally went to see Mark with the intention of just getting a fridge and a hob installed into the existing units in our T4. Our van was very basic with cupboards and a bed only. After meeting Mark and seeing his vans, we decided to strip our van out have a complete refit. Mark answered all of our questions and gave us lots of good advice. He kept us informed every step of the way while the van was being worked on. He even posted pictures on face book so that we could see the progress. The van was ready to collect exactly when it was promised. The quality of work was second to none. Everything was finished perfectly. The unit colour was exactly what we wanted thanks to Mark’s advice. We could not be happier. We love our new van and we are sure we are going to have years of fun in it. Mark has a wealth of knowledge and is a genuine trustworthy guy. We will go back to Mark for any future work without any hesitation.
If you are thinking of having a conversion, we would definitely recommend Oxcampers. You won’t be disappointed.

We hired a van from Oxcampers as a “try before we by” and absolutely loved it. We could not fault the service from start to finish with the hire service and quality of the van. We decided to take the plunge and get our own van, Mark was so helpful and offered loads of advice about what van we needed to order, engine, tailgate etc. Today we’ve collected our converted van and are blown away, it’s everything we’d imagined and more, we can’t wait to get our first trip away and start making memories! We had a really positive experience with our conversion, Mark always made time for our calls and gave great advice. The conversion took longer than expected but this was down to VW production challenges and Oxcampers did all they could to chase. We’re really pleased with our van and have already recommended to two friends who have both gone on to work with Oxcampers for their conversions.

The Littlewood’s T6 Camper
We considered getting a camper for some time and looked at hundreds of vans around the Country but couldn’t decide which way to go. We decided to try before you buy and hired from Mark for a couple of long weekends in the summer. Getting to know Mark and his ability to create want we wanted was the deciding factor and we set about locating a suitable van, which was the most difficult thing in the whole process. Once located and purchased it was plain sailing and we now have a van we are delighted with following the Ox Campers conversion.
Mark was a pleasure to deal with, no hard sell at anytime unlike some we spoke to, just good sound advice gained from his vast experience over the years not only converting them but using campervans as a family. His workmanship is second to none in this field and we are certainly looking forward to taking off in the van next year.
